Settling in but not yet home....
We made it into town Wednesday afternoon and what a drive it was all the way from New York. I will say seeing the desert I will never forget. I had no idea that this even existed in the United States and if you have never seen it, definitely put this on your list of things to see. When I saw the rolling sand dunes my jaw just dropped. It was so beautiful and amazing at the same time.
We are currently in our temporary apartment which Adrian's work has us in for at a max of 2 months till we work out our housing situation. We have put an offer on a house but it may not qualify for the Fannie Mae loan. We find out on Wednesday. If we do not get this house we will probably end up renting again until we can find a house. Adrian and I really would love to get into a home but we just refuse to pay for an over priced, over crowded house in the city or any city for that matter. Which is requiring us to have alot of patience, and we really place it all in God's hands.
As soon as we got into town we cracked open the books and got busy with school again. It has been an interesting year homeschooling with all the moving and travel. I also came to the realization that the curriculum the boys are using is not going to work for us. We decided to try something new for them and we are very unhappy with it. So this weekend I will be on the internet ordering some new textbooks for them to get us back on track. It is just frustrating that we made the wrong choice.
The Children are still working on their art skills, Noah drew this bird with his new art pens.
Anna learned a new technique with crayons and an eraser called feathering.
We decided to take a walk out side today since we are all suffering from some serious jet lag trying to get on the pacific time zone and I thought the fresh air would be good for us. Noah spotted this beautiful humming bird which the children have never seen before. And what fun we had chasing this guy around the complex to see what flowers he was feasting on. He was quite fast and we had a hard time keeping up with him.
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

Aren't hummingbirds the just the most amazing little creatures?! Did you know that they can fly backwards or more accurately, they can back up when feeding from a flower.
ReplyDeleteAnna's drawing could be framed!! It is beautiful! I love irises. Are they blooming where you are right now?
