Well we thought we had seen the Loch Ness Monster in our lake again, but it turned out to be the Ahinga bird. This is such a fun bird to watch they love to dive under the water and you never know where they will pop up again. Then of course they also look very lovely when they spread out their wings to dry.

We found this picture on the Internet since we did not have a snapshot of the bird we saw out of the water.

We have been able to fit Art into school again which is a blessing. School had been down to the basics since my teeth had been pulled so we have been playing catch up with all the subjects we really love like Spanish, art, music, and nature study.

We tend to do art all the time but I do like to purchase a program also to keep us focused on particular skills for the children to develop. This year we are using Rod and Staff again, and the program is called Art with a purpose. Noah is learning how to shade with Art pens. And Liam and Anna are continuing with there shading skills as well!

This is a piece Noah worked on with his art pens. The project was an outline of the picture and he had to fill in all the shading.
Adrian purchased helmets for the boys this weekend they went out for the first time on Adrian's motorcycle which they were extremely excited about. I do not think it was possible for their smiles to get any bigger!

Noah with his Dad! He gets the first ride.

Liam gets his turn!
Last but not least we have a new pet in our household. Anna has a hamster named CoCo. He or She I am not sure which? is very cute although very loud at night when it likes to run crazy on that silly hamster wheel.

We took some video and set up a Hamster Cam so you can check CoCo out and see just how cute this little hamster is!
Dear Heather,
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear from you; hope your teeth are healing and not hurting any longer.
I love the painting Anna and Noah drew; they are very good.
How exciting for the boys to go riding on a motorcycle with their Dad! It is a lot of fun. Gee, Adrian sure looks intimidating on that bike, hehehe.
Thank you for the quote on contentment; it is always good to remember that the Lord is in control. In Christ we can do all things.
Blessings,
Hello! You take such beautiful photos! I would love to incorporate more art into our schooling. We do nature studies, but I haven't done any formal art teaching. I think I shall! Have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that the Loch Ness Monster was losing weight :oP. What a relief to know it wasn't her ;o)!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful art work and fun times with Daddy on the bike.
The children all had a good giggle at the antics of Anna's hamster.
Blessings!
Deborah
PS When you finally get your Timmie's someone will have to try the blueberry blossom. The children have all had the strawberry blossom (out for spring early summer) and loved it! I'm sure the blueberry blossom will be good too :o)
HEhheee the hamster cam. just about cracked me up. I remember as a kid mine would run in that squeaky wheel alllll night as if he was actually getting somwhere fast. :)
ReplyDeleteThe kid's art is very cool. They really seem to enjoy it. That is great!
Dear Heather,
ReplyDeleteI'm taking a break from housecleaning here, and glad to see what you've been up to. The quote on "stuff" is so true. I love your hyper hamster, and the loch ness monster. Happy drawing to all! Keep up the great work.
Love,
Marqueta
