Kind of Inbetween........

Photobucket

At times like this it is especially wonderful and a blessing to be a follower of Christ and to know where we belong. We are in between places now with our move waiting for the movers to call and set a date yet enjoying our visit in New York with family, and then of course wondering what God has in store for us in San Diego. This Thursday Adrian and I fly out to California to look for a new home.

Our home school right now takes place in Grandpa's kitchen. Which is the wonderful blessing of homeschooling our children. Their stability comes from God and since we are on the rock the whole world could be moving and we can still function normally and peacefully. I think it is truly an enriching experience that the children can open their books anywhere and sit down and study when it is time for school. Our classroom may constantly be changing but the core of our Christian Home school always stays the same.

I have some photos to share with you of a wonderful heirloom that we leave here at my fathers house. Since it is so special we do not want to risk it being damaged or broken in our frequent moves.

My Grandfather was a carpenter and a very good one. He has made some wonderful pieces of furniture. The piece I would like to share with you is the Doll house that he made for me. It is Cleaning day in the doll house today since it was rather messy, but the dolls are now enjoying a nice clean and organized house thanks to Anna! Most of the furniture is the same furniture that I played with as a child.

Matthew 7:24-27 (New International Version)
The Wise and Foolish Builders

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

  1. Isn't it wonderful the freedom homeschooling provides. We are sort of in "limbo" right now as we are living with my in-laws and soon to be moving to our own place. But, it has been so nice to have homeschooling and it continues on no matter where we are!

The doll house is amazing! I always wanted a doll house when I was little! That one is absolutely beautiful and I LOVE the furniture!! I majored in Interior Design - and I would love to decorate my own "little" place. lol

    Have a blessed day!

  2. Dearest Heather,

How truly wonderful it is to know that the world can continue to move at its rapid pace...but you and your dear ones have a stable rock ~ Jesus Christ!

The waiting game is the toughest, not knowing what will happen in the near future can be a bit unerving ~ but you do know WHO is in control.

What a blessing you are to me dear friend!

Enjoy your time with your wonderful family...what a beautiful doll house. It is so precious to have such a wonderful family heirloom!

    in HIS grace,

  3. Isn't it wonderful when we see God's faithfulness at work! Your faithfulness to Him as a family has enabled you to get through some unstable times with grace, joy, and the wonderful blessings of family too! I love reading how your move is going. (we were almost in the same situation five years ago, so I'm kind of living vicariously through you and imagining what it would have been like :o)).

What a beautiful doll house!! The ladies of the house sure look exhausted after all that cleaning. I'm wondering if they would like to clean my house now that they're all practiced up. Hehehe!

    Blessings and Prayers!
