Taking it Easy and drinking lots of Tea!

Well I had no idea I would have needed as much time to recover from my wisdom tooth extraction as I have but it was quite the experience. Today is the first day that the pain has been bearable and I am so thankful for my friends who have lifted me up in prayer. Sometimes in life things do not go as expected! But praise God we can give a shout out to him and he is there to hear us! "You are my refuge and my shield I have put my hope in your word." Psalm119:114 Yesterday I was so frustrated by how much pain there still was it was such a blessing today to have some relief. You would think they had pulled some embedded dinosaurs out of my mouth from what I have been through lol! It also just seems funny that just as I implement a good solid exercise routine I would be bed ridden having to eat mashed potatoes and ice cream and jello Ugh! Not the most healthiest food choices. As soon as I can chew I can't wait to eat a giant fresh raw salad!

I have been drinking a whole leaf tea that has been wonderful and soothing for my mouth. It is a combination of Rooibos, lemon myrtle, linden, rose petals, and lemon. It is by Octavia Tea. They have a very interesting article on how to decaffeinate tea yourself at home, just in case you you were not aware that many times they use chemicals to decaffeinate tea.

I have been trying to sneak outside for some sunshine and to feed the ducks. I know there I am again interfering with the circle of life as my husband Adrian likes to call it! But a few weeks ago my son was not paying attention when he was fishing and hooked a duck. So Noah and I chased after this poor fellow and wrapped him in a towel and we brought him home to remove the hook. It went very well as I fulfilled the role of veterinarian and successfully removed the hook. But we have been keeping an eye on him and he seems to be doing great! And so we have been feeding him some bread crumbs keeping him healthy. Most of the Muskovy ducks on our property are very domestic and are fed by all the residents. Which is why they went for the fish hook since the kids like to use bread as bait on their hooks the ducks have figured it out so the kids now have to be very careful when fishing!

We recently went to the beach and the children had a wonderful time exploring as you can tell we mostly saw feet in the air as the children spent more time trying to see what was under the waves. They even had the wonderful experience of a visit from a manatee. Who swam right next to them. They all said they wanted to grab on and enjoy a ride but they were just observers this time. And we did a head count to make sure all 3 children came home. No riding off into the sunset with Manatees, we are in school right now, it is not summer vacation anymore lol!

We have amazing birds on our property every day so we would like to share with you a video of a beautiful bird that we love the Great Egret. ~Enjoy!

  2. Yay! A little time for me to catch up on your blog! I am so glad you are feeling better! I had my wisdom teeth pulled many many years ago, but I remember it being very painful.

I have two little girls who are now wearing ladies size shoes and our son now wears the same size shoe as my husband. How is it that they grow before our very eyes??

I love reading about your days and all the wonderful photos too!

    Blessings!

  3. Hi Heather,

Oh, so glad to hear you are feeling a bit better and are out and about. I know how tooth pain can affect the whole body, amazing.

Wow! I just loooove that Miami beach color of aqua blue. It is soooo inviting. How blessed you and your family are to live there.

Wow, a manatee! That's amazing... they are such timid creatures and BIG, too. Love the egret as well.

    Thank you for sharing .

    Blessings,

  4. Dear Heather,

I hope you're feeling better today. I've had some tooth pain too, this weekend with an infection that settled in my teeth. I lived off of smoothies for a while! If you have a blender, you can make a green smoothie with your mild greens like spinach, and you can get your salad that way. It helps little ones eat their greens, too! We also love to make a soft-serve "ice cream" with frozen bananas in the food processor or blender (takes more water in the blender) that is really sweet and yummy.

We wish we could have gone to the beach with you! The girls had forgotten what a manatee was, so you gave us our nature study for the day! We looked up videos of them on YouTube. They're quite lovely and sweet-looking, aren't they?

    Love,

    Marqueta

p.s. The egret is quite lovely, too :)

  5. Dear Heather,

Tooth pain is just not enjoyable ;( but Marqueta is right on the green smoothie. It is easy to do and you are able to eat a bit better than white potatos ~ not good!

The beach, the ducks...sure brings back a great deal of memories.

I grew up in the coast of Colombia, and the beach was my backyard ;)

Praying that you will feel like your old self again...

  6. I am so glad you are feeling better. It always strikes me as ironic how all of us fare differently with this surgery! My dh didn't take any pain meds after the first one, and he didn't need the first one. He had NO pain. I had all four of mine dug out of my gums....I was nursing...I only took Tylenol the first day and was fine after that. Isn't that weird? I have another friend who was out for DAYS AND DAYS. Hugs!
