This and That & The Winter Sky ....

We have been busy inside the house with homeschooling but we have also been having some pretty nice weather outside. So we have been trying to get outside as much as possible and enjoy the warm winter sun. Although that is soon to change we are supposed to be having a weather front move through tomorrow that they are saying will be bringing in some rainy and blustery changes over the next few days. So we have temporarily tucked some of our flowers away in our little greenhouse to weather the storm and hopefully we can pull them back out in a few days to enjoy. We have some wonderful photos of the pretty iridescence and corona's that we have been spotting thanks to the cirrus clouds this is apparently common for winter in the mountains.
Here are some snapshots of our this and that & winter sky !

  1. No sun here today. Just snow in the morning. The coronas are amazing! The one even looks like an upside down rainbow. And your gardening boxes are awesome too. It looks like you are all enjoying that warm winter sunshine and are settling in nicely.

    Tomorrow I am going to enjoy a large pot of tea under my new tea cozy!! It arrived yesterday! I was so thrilled to see it in the mailbox. Thank you again, Heather! It will be nice to be sipping hot tea all afternoon. It would be even more lovely if we could sip a cup of tea together while the children all played outside (in the warm winter sunshine or perhaps in the snow :o)).

    Blessings!

  3. Wonderful photos of the clouds and corona's! Looks like you all have been having fun in the sun! :~D Mr. Watts made some great garden boxes! My thoughts have turned to the spring garden and planting, too! Especially with all the tempting garden catalogs filling the mailbox the last couple of weeks! They are a great diversion from the wind and rain and take my mind off this nasty cold that Gentleman Farmer and I both have ! This is the first time that I can remember both of us being down with a bug at the same time! He has been laid off work the last couple of weeks, so we are just hanging out, bein' lazy and co-miserating with each other! Those clouds DO have silver linings! ;~}
    Blessings!

  5. Dear Heather,
    Our boys would be so jealous of those air rifles.
    I am envious of the garden frames.
    I can't wait for our garden, when we move. Sigh.
    Lovely family days
    God Bless

  6. What a beautiful day, I just love the pictures of the sun. I too have been waiting for the time I can plant some veggies again, here it is so nice to think of the warmer weather coming sometime! And you have given me an idea for my boys-a target. I had never thought of using something like that, it will definitely be a hit!

  7. Dear Heather,

    You captured some beautiful shots, indeed! Winter skies, I think, are the most beautiful of all.

    The garden boxes and greenhouse look heavenly, and how nice that the boys can practice shooting in their own backyard. Does Anna get a turn, too? :)

    Love,

  8. Hello Heather~I love your music!! Your post was so inspiring to me. The photo's you took of the sky are so beautiful. Your family leads a somewhat different life than mine. I have no boys~so we don't have air guns~mostly magic wands instead! It is snowy and cold here so I am by the fireside most nights knitting with my girls. It is great that your husband already made the vegetable garden boxes. What types of veggies do you grow? I am currently trying to sell my house so that we can move out to the country~I actually saw a lovely farm house on a hill that I would buy if I sell mine. My husband likes to live in town~but the town seems to be bursting at the seams~so to speak~and i would love to be self-sufficient with a veggie garden, some chickens, etc. All my plans may come to naught~God knows the plans He has for my family~He knows what is best. God bless, Rose
